This course compares the environmental laws of the United States and Brazil. The course aims to build studentsòòò½´«Ã½™ capacity to assess the environmental laws of both countries, and to consider national policies concerning environmental quality. òòò½´«Ã½ and faculty will travel to Rio de Janeiro and several other regions of Brazil to continue classes, and attend seminars conducted by prominent scholars and attorneys. òòò½´«Ã½ also participate in field trips to the fragile yet crucial ecosystems of Brazil. This course requires students to write a research paper comparing some aspect of the environmental laws in both Brazil and the United States.
